Huge Fire at VIM Wood Recycling Plant

Around 10:30pm tonight, Bruce and I heard a loud noise that sounded like someone jumped onto our roof. Since we have stacks of shingle bundles up there right now, we thought they had fallen.

Turns out, VIM Wood Recycling and Processing, about a mile or two away from us, had an explosion and now there's a huge out-of-control fire there.

This is the place we got the garden mulch a couple of weeks ago.

After we figured out what was going on (watching the 11pm news), we stepped out to the patio and could actually see the smoke and flames above the tree line to the north. We drove down the road and took a few pictures. We were on the south side of the railroad tracks and VIM is on the north side so you see the trains in the photo.

One person was killed in the explosion and another person was badly burned. There was a fire there a few years ago that burned for days.
